We also love to nurture your hair with our nourishing Kerastase rituals at the spa with which support both your hair and scalp. Relax with an extra long head massage, and did we mention the comfy basin chairs, we have you covered to receive maximum chill time.

To top it off, we absolutely know how to cut hair. We love to support you with a style which is easy to manage, and we are always ready to change it up when you are ready to make a move. When you enter the studio you will be met with an atmosphere which invites you to relax and unwind and make the most of the space you have whilst getting your hair done. No time to relax? :) If you have office work to do, we also have a table you can work at whilst your colour is processing.

Talk to a hairdresser
Online hair consultations are now being offered by our senior stylist Christine Moohin. Book an appointment to discuss all your hair care requirements. Sessions are available in the mornings before Christine starts cutting hair and in the evenings.
The cost of the 30 minute consultation is redeemable on products when you purchase any product over $50 from the store at the end of your session. And if you are not purchasing product and just want to discuss any changes you have noticed with your hair and how to level up your haircare rituals and routines the consultation rate is $50 for the 30 minute consult.

How do I book an appointment with a hairdresser?

Why do I have to pay a deposit to secure my hairdressing appointment?
The deposit secures and confirms your appointment at the studio. It prevents anyone booking that is associated with scams –when we get a spam booking and the booking doesn't arrive at their appointment we still have to pay our hairdresser for their time. The deposit also supports your commitment to attend your appointment as booked. We do understand that there are also genuine reasons why you can't make an appointment and we have covered that in our booking terms. For a full overview see our Booking Terms and Conditions.
Can I get a hair appointment today?
Sometimes we have cancellations and there are available appointments on the day — but not always. We are a small boutique studio, our guests often make their appointments a year in advance to secure their favourite day and time. If you can’t locate an appointment for the day that you would like, send us a text message and we will see what we can do: +61409 988 428
Do you open late nights or weekends?
Yes, we open after hours on Wednesday and Thursday, and every Saturday. We also do other nights by appointment, the best way to find out is to join our waitlist if you don’t find a time that works for you.
Where is the best place to park near the salon?
If you are getting a service of an hour or less there is off street parking available, this is regulated by council, so please look at the signs when parking. There is also metered parking situated on Brisbane street, Gregory street and Wood street. Please allow extra space when parking , and prior to leaving home download the app Mackay Parking.
Do I have to wash my hair before I come?
This is not needed as all our services include a shampoo, we use Kerastase products at our spa area, and who would want to miss out on the best head massage in Mackay.
Can I bring pictures of what I want?
Yes, we love pictures as inspiration, not expectation. Meaning, it's great to see a visual of what direction you want to head for your hair, but not having the expectation of getting exactly what the picture is, as they often are filled with filters and false variations of what the hair actually is. Check out our in studio images, to see some of our colour designs and haircuts. What professional products do you stock?
In studio, we use Loreal Professional colours to provide you with a high quality, long lasting colour. At the spa area, we use Kérastase exclusively, with their wide range of shampoos, conditioners, treatments, and salon exclusive hair care rituals. in styling we also use Sebastian products to support hair styling in the home.
Do you sell gift vouchers?
Yes we do, you can buy them in the store here. Or you can email info@fortheloveofhair.com.au You can choose a digital voucher or a printed voucher that you can collect in studio.
How long will my appointment take?
Generally, Cutting and/or Styling appointments take approximately 1 hour. Colour/Highlighting appointments can range from approximately 3-5 hours. For transformations, it may take longer and we will let you know of timing once known, If we need to reschedule for such a big job this will be communicated with you.
What is your returns policy?
Please choose your products carefully. If you accidentally purchase the wrong item let us know within 7 days of purchase. If the item is unopened and the packaging is not damaged, we can exchange but not refund.
Do you ship Australia wide?
Yes, we provide shipping Australia-wide. Make sure you enter your address correctly as we cannot be held responsible for errors in the shipping address entered.
