When we look at “Inspo” pics, they are exactly that. An inspiration or vision of where you might want to head with your hair goals.
Look at the length of the hair, the shape of the hair, the texture of the hair, the colour of the hair.
Have you considered what is actually on your head right now? Is it 5 box dyes deep, or 3 inches of regrowth, or split ends central? All of these options have resolutions for the hair, but there may be a hair journey to venture on.
The joy of the hair journey
So… A hair journey.. sounds like it could take forever right… but not always. The way you care for your hair in between studio visits can have a major impact on what you can do with your hair next. For example if you are wanting to go lighter faster then you may opt in to put an at home treatment in every week, and pair it up with an in studio treatment every month (which is 60x stronger than what is in your home treatment).
We can be our biggest judgment critics, wanting a hairdo from 10 years ago, but realising that your hair is completely different texture nowadays. So how can we search for pics that relate to our hair right now?
In a google search start off simply with ‘short’, ‘medium’ or ‘long’.. Then add words that describe the colour: ‘blonde’, ‘brown’ or ‘red’.. Then add style related words: ‘curls’, ‘waves’, or ‘smooth’.. Finishing the search phrase with the word ‘hair’ of course..
So in this you have narrowed the playing field significantly. Now you can go into more details with adding in cool or warm behind the colour.
With this you will be led to an array of images relating to where you may want to head.
Once you have these images , they act as a ….guide. Yes, it is a communication between you and your hairdresser to discuss further options which would be suitable and customised for your hair. It’s like a gathering of the firewood to create the fire. But it needs the match to light it. This is the communication process between you and your hairdresser, both parties have an important part to play.

First and foremost, the gathering of information is essential and is an important part of the consultation, as you may really have your heart set on a particular style, but haven’t realised the maintenance for it.
