AI and Your Hair
AI is a great tool for many, but not for hair.
“It’s the new wig” I often hear people say, and: “I wish I could put on a wig to see what it would looks like”. Yes, there is an element of visual relativity, but do we truly register what it would be like with that style, colour etc.
When you share a photo with a hairdresser of your new defined look - ask yourself ..
• have you connected with the hairdresser and had an open discussion about what you would love your hair to be - your words not Google’s.
• have you decided your next haircut from something that has come to you, not something you have compared to with another?
• Have you then, looked at the image AI created and ‘fallen in love’ with how it has changed your face shape and smoothed out your wrinkles to make you look younger, so it makes sense to have that hair style.
It’s not to throw the image in the bin, but let’s get real. We don’t want a computer-generated image dressing us up for the day, when we know how to dress from within.
From within, we get given what to put on for the day, how to style our hair, when to brush our teeth, when to leave for work. But we second guess our hair? Or trust another that says what they “want” instead of what nourishes you from your deepest sense.
You are invited into our studio for a personalised consultation. In person, we can do colour matching through colour boards and find what works for you and your skin tone. Online we can discuss it, and it can work, however, we miss out on practicableness of it being next to your skin.
A colour analysis doesn’t define all that you are, it supports you to see what colours enhance your natural beauty. Yes, beauty lies within. We all have it, unleash it for yourself and discover what already was there.
AI is a tool, but no different to a knife and a fork, it’s how we use them effectively to get to a result, and in the case of hair it is forever evolving as we all are unlimitable in styles throughout our every day.
And as an example, a couple of days ago I washed my hair and discovered a curl, a curl that I have never had in my life. So, tell me how I once had straight hair and literally overnight my hair now has a wave and then curl when I diffuse my hair with products such as Kerastase Curl Manifesto and Loreal Flex Curl Bounce. It was by chance that I didn’t have long to blow-dry my hair, so I diffused my hair whilst multi-tasking and checking my emails. I was in shock for what I saw, but I had never been this delicate with my hair as I had always blast dried it and then hot styled it. I’m not saying everyone has a curl to work with, I’m saying hair can change as we move differently - how incredible, we are responsible for our gorgeous hairstyles and in collaboration with our hair stylist, we are a team creating your style for all to love.
How you design your hair, will be different to the next.
How you wash your hair, may be different from the day or week before.
How you style your hair, will be different every time you pick up the brush (remember that piece never sits how you want it)
But remember most of all, you are the designer of your hair, your shining crown for all. Don’t let AI take you down the path of feel-good-pics, that are set you up for something that isn’t real, achievable or naturally beautifully.
Be in love with your hair. And if you aren’t,book in a styling session so we can share the joy of styling. The ritual is worth it.
